A few bass are being taken along ledges or main river drops on Carolina-rigged worms or deep-diving crankbaits. Topwater is good in the mornings and afternoons also.

Good fishing

The fishing in Cheatham Lake is good but it's nowhere near the class nearby Kentucky and Barkley Lakes are in. As with most of the flowages in this part of the country fish shallow coves, fallen trees, feeder creeks, and near shad schools for bass. Fish current, near inlets, drop offs, and shad schools for white bass and saugers. Try fishing drop offs, near the dam in spring, and near the shad schools for striped bass. If you want to catch smallmouth bass try fishing current, rock/gravel, and near shad schools. Good luck fishing!
