Fishing Tips for Rock River

The ice is all off the river. The fish have not moved from their winter spots though. Basically fish where you would, with what you would if there was still ice. Good luck fishing!

Fishing Tips for the Rock River

The ice has not been forming very fast even in the back waters. In most spots the ice is about 1 inch with open spots numerous. We are going to need a lot of cold weather before we can get out there. Pray for cold.

Fishing Tips for the Rock River

IF you are interested the crappies are biting near inlets and wood. If you can find a cove that contains both of those you are golden. Try using small crankbaits, jigs, soft plastics, Zip Lures, and live bait. The walleyes are biting too; you can catch them by fishing dam, rocks, and inlets with jigs, crankbaits, soft plastics, blade baits, ice fishing baits, and live bait. There are also really big pike being caught on dead fish. Try fishing in the slack water under the dam, coves, rocks, and inlets (inlets are the best place to fish). Good luck fishing!

Fishing Tips for the Rock River

The fishing is good but it's not yet great. Most of the fish are undersized but more big ones are showing up every day. Try fishing with jigs tipped with live bait or soft plastics or crank baits near dams and rocks. Good luck fishing!

Fishing Tips for the Rock River

I have good news! The males and saugers are starting to show up at the dams. The big females shouldn’t be that far behind. For now a least try fishing with light jigs tipped with live/dead bait or soft plastics. Good luck fishing!

The water temp is about 68 in the main river and 71 in the backwaters. Shouldn’t be long until the fish put on the feedbag. Good luck fishing!
