The Greenbrier picnic pavilion is located in the "big" Greenbrier area of Great Smoky Mountains National Park and approximately six miles east of Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
This is a nice, 22' x 59' picnic pavilion with a capacity of about 70 people. There are two elevated charcoal grills are just outside the pavilion and a fireplace for charcoal fires inside the pavilion. There are two accessible 8' picnic tables plus six 12' tables. There is no telephone or electricity at the site. This site is handicapped accessible but the restrooms are not.
The two rental periods are 8 AM - 3:30 PM and 4 - 8 PM. If you want the whole day, reserve both periods.

FOOD STORAGE: Black bears and other wildlife inhabit the area. Food storage regulations are strictly enforced. Do not feed wildlife and do not leave food or garbage unattended. Properly dispose of all food and garbage at the end of your event.
FIREWOOD QUARANTINE:Firewood from a number of states and 2 Canadian Provinces is quarantined due to an insect infestation by one or more insect pests (e.g. the Emerald Ash Borer) that is devastating certain tree species. Please help protect our forests from these destructive pests and do not bring firewood into the Park from the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin as well as the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec.
WATER: Potable water is not available at this site.
FIRES: There is no provision for open wood fires. There are BBQ grills for charcoal fires. The grill in the pavilion is for charcoal fires only.
ALCOHOL: Alcohol is allowed at designated picnic areas, including this pavilion, as well as designated campsites. Alcohol is prohibited elsewhere.
DECORATIONS: Decorations are allowed, provided that tape, etc. is removed upon departure. Directional signs leading to the site are prohibited.
ACTIVITY RESTRICTIONS: Commercial activity (i.e. sales) is prohibited. Use of the pavilion for weddings or wedding receptions may require a Special Use Permit. Call 865-436-1266 for information.
MISC: Impromptu use of the pavilion is allowed without charge unless a reservation has been made. Keep your confirmation notice with you in the event of a conflict with a non-reservation party.
FISHING: A Tennessee or North Carolina fishing license is required to fish in the park. Licenses are available in nearby towns at <$30. Special regulations apply in the park: single hook, artificial flies or lures only---no bait.
