Description:
The Hazelton Recreation Area is located on the east bank of the Missouri River on Lake Oahe. Lake Oahe is formed behind Oahe Dam, which was part of the Flood Control Act of 1944, commonly called the Pick-Sloan Plan. The campground consists of 30 sites with 12 electrical sites (50 amp breakers) and 18 primititve sites. Amenities in the campground area include playground equipment, vault toilets, fire rings, picnic tables, and a horseshoe pit. The boat ramp has an expanded paved parking lot with picnic tables, a fish cleaning station and vault toilets.
