Hirz Group 1 is located on Gilman Rd. south of Lakehead. The campground is well forested and sits on McCloud Arm of Shasta Lake. The nearest boat launch is about 1 mile away at Hirz Bay. There is a $8.00 daily fee for the use of the facility. Resorts on the lake have water crafts and marinas with fuel. Nearest store is about 15 miles away in Lakehead. Abundant wildlife in the area. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. This campground requires a 2 day minimum stay on weekends. This campground requires a 3 day minimum stay on holiday weekends. Respect wildlife! Store food in bear proof lockers provided. Poison oak is abundant throughout the forest. Vehicles park in developed areas only. CAUTION:Bears frequent the area. All food must be kept in approved containers.
