We met with Shane towards the end of July 2011, in the evening hours for hog hunting. Shane was friendly, but did not appear to be ready for the hunt as he showed up in shorts and the first point he brought up during the breefing was the amount of bugs we were going to be encountering during the hunt. Due to this his suggestion was to move around the property in a pick up truck looking for the hogs, which turned out to be ineffective. No hogs were observed.
We encountered three small hogs, with the largest being about 80lbs. during a stalking approach. (Do not expect to see trophy type hogs on this property) The property is nice, with open and wooded areas. We observed several feeders around the property, however it appeared that those have not been filled in a long time. We believed the time of the year picked was not the best either since the temperature that day reached the 90's. Although we believe that if Shane prepared the grounds for the hunt and was willing to do more of a stalking approach regardless of the bugs, we would have been successfull in our hunt.
