This facility will be closed until March 31st, 2011 due to damages sustained by fires in August-November of 2009.
Open April 1st through November 15th, weather and fire conditions permitting. Lightning Point Campground is located 25 miles southeast of Palmdale and 35 miles north of the San Fernando Valley. Lightning Point is off Angeles Forest Highway, and 8 miles west of Mill Creek summit on the Santa Clara Divide Road (3N17). The campground is at an elevation of 6,100 feet amid Jeffery Pines, Scrub Oaks, and Manzanita. It will accommodate groups of up to 240 campers. There are 6 sites which have group-sized barbeques and tables, 26 single horse corrals, and large gathering areas.

SItes 5 and 6 have 6 horse corrals each. Horses are not required to reserve these sites.
There are six reservable sites with a maximum of 40 people each.
Reservations are available 360 days in advance.
NO RESTROOM FACILITIES AVAILABLE - you must bring your own portable toilets and take all components with you when you leave.
Bears are frequent visitors. All food must be stored properly.
NO WATER AVAILABLE bring what you need.
Hay brought must be certified weed free.
Out of state horses must have a current Coggins test.
Please bring garbage bags. This facility is "Pack it in. Pack it out."
NO generators, live bands-concerts, or loud music allowed.
Conducting a business and/or collecting fees for use of the group campground other than the reservation use fee is prohibited by law.
