Longwood Park is located on John H. Kerr Reservoir. The 50,000- acre lake extends 39 miles up the Roanoke River along 800 miles of wooded, cove-studded shoreline with 70,000 acres of project lands and it's yours to enjoy whether you like to swim, fish, camp, go boating, or just relax by enjoying its scenic beauty. Longwood offers 66 campsites, 34 with electric and water hookups. Additional amenities include a swim beach, picnic area, boat launch, hot showers and flush toilets. ALL CAMPSITES AT LONGWOOD PARK CAN NOW BE RESERVED! This is in response to our customers wanting more sites available to reserve. This does NOT mean that you must have an advanced reservation to get a campsite!! You can still walk in and if a site is available to rent then you may rent it. You may make advanced reservations on line or at the call center. If you have any additional questions, please call a Park Ranger at the Visitor Assistance Center at 434-738-6143.
This district will be completing several campground upgrade projects with funds received from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Please expect construction projects to be on-going during your visit and pardon our progress to making your future visits more enjoyable as we make these facility upgrades. within the next couple months.
Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance. This campground requires a 2 day minimum stay on weekends. This campground requires a 3 day minimum stay on holiday weekends. The campsites are $15-$20 per night. Campground opened from April 1 to October 31.
Alcohol is prohibited.
ORVs, ATVs, dirt bikes, motorized scooters and golf carts are prohibited.
All equipment must fit on the site pad.
EXTRA VEHICLE FEE: Campsites with more than 2 vehicles excluding camping unit, will be charged a $4.00 extra vehicle fee, per vehicle, per night.
Gates are locked at 11pm. Ranger and Sheriff patrol nightly during season. Attendant is on duty, April - October. Please call (434)374-2711 for more information.
