Description:
Louella Cabin was built in 1912 as a fire guard station, and features a kitchen, living room, and 2 bedrooms. The small, cozy cabin sleeps six with a double bed, twin bunk bed and a futon couch in the living room which opens to a full sized bed. The cabin is equipped with chairs, dining table, dishes, pots, pans, silverware and utensils. Bed, bath and kitchen linens are not provided. Electricity, propane heater, cook stove, electric refrigerator and lights are provided.
Area attractions include nearby access to Buckhorn Wilderness, hiking, sightseeing, and mountain biking, Olympic National Park, Sequim, Port Angeles and Port Townsend.

Alerts and Important Information
The septic system for the cabin has failed so there is no potable water, shower, flush toilet facilities, or other running water within the cabin. There is an outdoor "port-a-potty" for people to use, and it is serviced weekly.
Entry to the cabin is by a key stored in a lock box. The required combination to gain access to the key pickup box MUST be obtained by calling the Hood Canal Ranger Station in Quilcene (360) 765-2200. Office hours are 8:00 AM. to 4:30 PM. Monday through Friday. The office is closed on holidays. There is a one day reservation window during peak season (Memorial Day through Labor Day) and a four day reservation window during the non-peak season (mid-December to March).
Please come prepared for your stay. Recommended items include: bedding, kitchen and bath linens, toilet articles, toilet paper, bar soap, paper towels, dish soap, mouse-proof containers for food; and in case the power fails, flashlights and extra batteries. The nearest phone is 5 miles away at Sequim Bay State Park.
Access may require chains in the winter during periods of heavy snow; the last 1/8 mile of road is not plowed.
There is no potable water at this site. Visitors must bring plenty of water for drinking, cooking and washing.
No pets are allowed.
No burning candles in the cabin.
Please bring your own garbage bags. This is a Pack it in, Pack it out site.
All Forest Service Cabin Rentals are No Smoking facilities.
Please contact the Ranger District prior to arriving at the cabin/lookout rental to check on any restrictions or conditions, such as fire closures, road, weather or storms, etc., that may affect the quality of your visit.
