About the Campground
Snow Camp Fire Lookout is a 15' X 15' cabin-type structure with a catwalk at ground level, located on top of Snow Camp Mountain. The newly renovated cabin is furnished with a double bed, a table and chairs, and cabinets and counter space for food preparation. It is also equipped with a wood-burning cook stove and there is a picnic table for outdoor dining. A port-a-potty is located near the lookout.
Although you can drive to within sight of the Lookout, the hike to the summit can be strenuous when carrying gear. A wheelbarrow is provided for your convenience.

Alerts and Important Information
Entry to the lookout will be by combination lock. The combination will be included in your confirmation letter. Please call/email the Gold Beach Ranger District office at 541.412.6000 4 days prior to your arrival to confirm your combination. The office is open Monday thru Friday from 8:30 to 4:30 and closed on weekends and holidays.
There is a 3 day minimum advance window for reservations.
Snow Camp Lookout is available for rent during the snow-free season (June to October). Feel free to lock the gate on the access road while you are staying at the lookout to insure your privacy. Visitors may still walk in, but you will be assured that any drive-in visitors are on official business.
There is no potable water at this site. Visitors must bring plenty of water for drinking, cooking and washing.
Please bring your own garbage bags and clean the facility before you leave. This is a "Pack it in, Pack it out" site.
Please bring sleeping bags/bedding, as well as a flashlight or lantern for emergencies, first aid kit, washcloths and towels, and dish soap.
All Forest Service Cabin Rentals are No Smoking facilities.
Please contact the Ranger District prior to arriving at the cabin/lookout rental to check on any restrictions or conditions, such as fire or road closures, weather or storms, etc., that may affect the quality of your visit.
