Open Year Around: RESERVATION SEASON FROM MARCH 1st TO SEPTEMBER 15. CAMPING OUTSIDE OF THIS PERIOD WILL BE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE ONLY. Tar Camp Campground is located on the Arkansas River by Pool 5 Lock and Dam. The area provides something for everyone whether it's camping, fishing, boating, or just relaxing in the sun. The Tar Camp Campground offers 58 sites, 38 with electric and water hookups. Additional ameniti include hot showers, a dump station, a boat launch, a playground, and public telephones. Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance.
2 night minimum on weekends.
3 night minimum on holidays.
The campground is open year round and campsite fees are $19 a night.
Attendants are on duty 11am to 9pm.
Please check in with at the gatehouse upon arrival.
