About the Campground

Alexander Springs Recreation Area is located in the Ocala National Forest. The semi-tropical region gives the campground a mixture of pines and palms, with lush greenery and warm temperatures. The sites are well shaded with level parking pads and tent space on all sites (there are no full hook-up sites). There are plenty of activities to keep campers occupied, in addition to swimming in the natural springs, there is a 7 mile canoe run, SCUBA diving (for certified divers), beach front, natural hiking trails and a summer interpretive programs. The abundant water in the area leaves lots of opportunity for all kinds of water activities. Keep your eyes open for lots of the area's wildlife, including alligators, turtles, deer, raccoons and black bear. Reservations can be made year round, and can be made up to 6 months in advance. They must however, be made at least 4 days before your intended arrival date.

Alerts and Important Information This campground has first-come, first-serve sites. Tax included in camping fees. There is a 2 night minimum stay on weekends, 3 night minimum on holiday weekends. Campground gate is locked at 8:00pm. Call 352-669-3522 for entry if you will be arriving after these times. Check out time is 1:00 pm. Maximum of 5 persons and 2 vehicles per site. Extra vehicles will be charged a per vehicle, per-night fee. CAUTION: Bears/Raccoons frequent the area. All food must be kept in containers. If you would like to book Saturday and Sunday, you will need to book your stay by phone at 877-444-6777.
