About the Campground
Balsam Glade Picnic Area is located just above the base of the Sandia Peak Ski Area. The area is 23 miles from Albuquerque. The picnic area is adjacent to the Madera Canyon overlook a short hike from the picnic area The picnic area has a covered shelter which is a replica of a mid-1930's Civilian Conservation Corps design.

Alerts and Important Information
We are in Level 2 fire restrictions which includes no open fires. Only propane or gas stoves may be used and no smoking except in vehicles with the windows closed.
Please call Sandia Ranger District at 505 281-3304 for current fire restrictions.
Reservations may be made up to one day in advance.
Monday through Thursday $40.00/Day for 1-30 people.
Friday through Sunday and Holidays $60.00/Day for 1-30 people.
ALL FIRE RESTRICTIONS LIFTED ON THE CIBOLA NATIONAL FOREST! The public is reminded that campfire safety is still of concern year round.
