About the Campground

Open April 1st through November 15th, snow and weather permitting. Bandido Campground is located off State Highway 2, 28 miles north of the 210 Freeway in La Canada and 2 miles west of Three Points on Santa Clara Divide Road (3N17). The campground is at an elevation of 5,840 feet amid Jeffery Pines, Scrub Oaks, and Manzanita. There is no water available. It will accomodate groups with up to 130 campers. There are 25 tables, 3 community fire rings,4 vault toilets,and 20 horse corrals.

Alerts and Important Information The Angeles Crest Highway, State 2, is washed out and closed between La Canada 14 miles east to Redbox Saddle. Access to Bandido and Coulter Group Campgrounds from the Los Angeles side of the mountains- drive I-210 to Sunland Blvd exit east towards the mountains to Oro Vista (7-11) turn left and go downhill 3/4 mile the road turns into Big Tujunga Canyon Road. Follow Big Tujunga Canyon Road 12 1/2 miles to the Angeles Forest Highway, turn left towards Palmdale 4 3/4 mile. Turn right onto Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road and go 9.1 miles to the Angeles Crest Highway, turn left and go 7.0 miles to Chilao for Coulter Group and 10.1 miles to the Santa Clara Divide Road to Bandido Group. It is unknown how long this detour will last. NO generators, live bands concerts, or loud music allowed. There is NO water available at this facility. Group area can only be reserved 360 days in advance. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. Bears are frequent visitors. All food must be stored properly. Please bring your own drinking water. Hay brought must be certified weed free. Out of state horses must have a current Coggins test. 130 people whole site fee $200. 65 people half site fee $100. Conducting a business and/or collecting fees for use of the group campground other than the reservation use fee is prohibited by law
