About the Campground
Buffumville Lake is operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers and located in Charlton MA. There are two picnic shelters available for reservations. The Shoreline Shelter is larger and near the water and the Grove Shelter is under the pines, quiet and cool. The reservation assures you a dry spot for your organized functions. The park offers picnic tables and grills, volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a swim beach, (no lifeguards, swim at your own risk), a nature trail and hiking trail, a boat ramp, and two picnic shelters. Unreserved shelters are available for use on a first come, first served basis. Interpretive programs are provided by our Park Rangers The recreation area is open from Third weekend of May through the second weekend of September from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00pm. During the rest of the year, you are invited to walk into the park during daylight hours. To plan special events, contact the Park Staff at (508) 248-5697.

Alerts and Important Information
This is a Day Use Area. There is no overnight camping allowed. Pets are allowed on a leash. No pets are allowed on the swim beach. Special Request: Anything that might change the atmosphere of the park will require approval from the park staff before making a reservation. Examples include, but are not limited to: music, weddings/receptions, special cooking arrangements, etc. No off highway vehicles are allowed. Swimming is permitted in designated areas only in the park. Vehicles are prohibited beyond parking lot due to pedestrian visitors in the recreation area. (The only exception is to grant access to handicapped individuals). Be prepared to carry-in or use hand truck or wagon to transport bulky items.
