About the Campground

The Dam Site Recreation Area at Delaware Lake is located 3 miles North of the City of Delaware, Ohio on US Route 23. There are two reservable picnic shelters in the Dam Site Area, with numerous picnic tables, pads and grills located throughout the area outside of the shelters, that are free on a first come, first serve basis. Shady Ridge Shelter is nestled under shade trees on a grassed ridge approximately 100 yards from the parking lot. Shady Ridge Shelter offers ADA access, privacy, water and electric, playgrounds, volleyball, and is within easy access to restrooms and hiking trail leading to the Olentangy River, downstream of the majestic Delaware Dam. Elm Grove Shelter is cradled between rows of shady elm trees and is located 50 feet from the parking lot. Elm Grove Shelter is a new attraction and offers ADA access, privacy, water and electric, playgrounds, volleyball, a textured patio with pedestal tables and group grill and is within easy access to restrooms, playgrounds and hiking trail leading to the Olentangy River, downstream of the majestic Delaware Dam. Alerts and Important Information Alcoholic beverages are NOT permitted. This is a day-use facility only. Reservations made through Reserve America. Camping is not allowed in this area. Pets must be on a leash at all times. Reserving Shelter does not reserve adjacent parking, playground, or open space, and individual picnic sites. The day use area closes at 9:30pm. ATV/ORV's are prohibited. Vehicles must be parked in the parking lot. For more information, please call Delaware Lake Project office at 740-363-4011.
