Rivermont and Coalfire is always the hottest spot on the lake this time of year. Anglers are throwing T-rigged plastics for the spawners while throwing spinnerbaits and weightless senkos and flukes for bass not spawning.

A few reports of bass cruising in shallow water in the Rivermont and Coalfire areas are starting to come in as prespawners feeding up for the spawn. Texas-rigged lizards and rattletraps are good bait choices right now, as are square-billed cranks and spinnerbaits.


on December 16th

Spotted bass will readily bite during the colder months and can provide some action when none can be found on the lake. These fish can be triggered by throwing flatsided crankbaits, shakeyheads and lipless crankbaits.
