Fishing Tips for Arivaca Lake

on March 15th

Aravaca Lake is known for its good fishing just as much as it’s heavy weed covers. The heavy weed cover makes fishing a challenge. You can't use regular lures here unless your goal is to catch a lot of weeds. You will be stuck with things like weedless spoons, weedless jigs, weedlessly rigged soft plastics, and topwaters. Drop shotting works well here before the weeds get to heavy in the spring. If you find an alleyway in the weeds try working a soft plastics jerk bait through it. If you find open water pockets try pitching whacky rigs. Tight Lines!
