Fishing Tips for Birkenhead Lake
by Blake Jackson
on December 16th
If you are interested in fishing for fair numbers of decent sized rainbow trout, dolly varden, whitefish, and kokanee salmon among gourgues scenery then I recommend you check out Birkenhead lake sometime. Because of the depth of the lake (max depth 38m, average depth 22m) the fishing stays steady throughout the open water season. Trolling is your best bet to get your bait deep in the summer but fly fishermen and hardware fishermen who cast the inlets and outlets in the spring and fall aren't going home skunked either.
