When stocking was discontinued back in the early 80s it was expected that Cascade Lake would become fishless. I guess the fish figured out some way to spawn or live forever because there are still trout in the lake. The numbers are not the best, but the fish grow BIG, 5lbs trout are not all that uncommon. I love this lake because it offers huge fish, and is almost never fished. You have to work to get here though, the access is hard and the land is technically private. The area is mostly talus rock and I have never ever even anyone else though so trespassing shouldn't be an issue so long as you are respectful to the land and don't cause an issue.
