Fishing Tips for Chevelon Canyon Lake

on March 12th

Getting here is not easy by any means. Only people who are somewhat fit can fish here because of a long, steep trail to get to the lake. Shore fishing is not very good here though so you are going to need to bring a boat. Becasue of this reason fishing pressure is low. The trout grow really big thanks to that. Thats not to say you can't catch lots of smaller fish here. Kastmasters, Panther Martins, spinners, Rapalas, and crayfish imitating crayfish work the best for spin anglers. For fly anglers consider using Wooly Buggers and wooly worms in black or brown colorers. Crayfish colored streamers will also work. Some of the best times of the year to fish here is when new trout are ebing stocked and near the inlet in fall when the browns are spawning. Spring is also a good time to fish here. You can catch fish in the summer just not as many or as big. Tight Lines!
