Basically crappie and white bass. Problem is it’s unfishable half the year due to flooding. Catfish are mainly tiny and not worth catching.

Delaware Lake

Crappies (black and white) are the shining stars of Delaware Lake averaging 8-13 inches with a huge population behind it. You can also find nice largemouth bass and channel catfish but they are not as prevalent as the crappies. Even though saugeye have been stocked since 1986, there has not been a whole lot of success. In the spring your best bet is fishing below the dam (a week after the major discharges are done) and the fallen trees/brush/etc in the shallow protected bays. Small jigs tipped with bait works the best. The rest of the year, focus on the drop offs and old river channel with small spoons and crankbaits. If you want to fish for catfish try fishing the shorelines and flats after dark with chicken liver, dead fish, dough balls, prepared bait, and cheese. Overall, I love this lake. The fishing is good, water quality is decent, motor size is unlimited, and there are plenty of shoreline amenities like campsites and bathrooms to make your trip more pleasant. The downside to this lake is that recreational pressure is a bit heavy though. You might want to avoid the lake on summer weekends.
