Elledge Lake Dam near Northport, Alabama
Quaint little lake, great place to test out new gear. The fish are decent-sized (1-2 lbs) and very picky - though there isn't much fishing pressure on this body of water. There is an occasional crankbait bite, but most of the time, they only bite on plastic worms and Zoom brand flukes. You can pay a nice little old woman a dollar to fish from shore, or you can rent out one of her old (and in very poor condition) Jon boats for $2. Definitely not a lake for fishermen wanting to haul in lunkers, but well worth the trip if you are dying to get rid of a fishing itch and/or learning how to bass fish for the first time.
