Ferron Reservoir

on April 21st

Ferron Reservoir technically should be able to be reached by a car, my experience however recommends something with 4-wheel drive. Trout up to 20 inches make the drive worth it though. Most people fish with bait from shore, but they are missing out on the really good fishing. Bring a small boat or float tube (there is an unimproved launch on the west end) and fish with flies or lures. Jake's spin-a-lure, Maisie spoons, and swimbaits work well for spin anglers while fly anglers prefer dark leech patterns with sinking line. If you find the fishing on the lake to be really good you might want to consider visiting Skyhaven Resort located on the lake. There is also a 32 spot campground.
