Right now bass can be caught on shallow crankbaits and jerk baits in the pre-spawn as the bass are headed shallow to stock up for the spawn. Catfish can be caught on live and cut shad fished near shallow and deep cover. Crappie can be caught on minnows near brush piles and fallen trees in the shallows.

Bass can be found around the cypress trees in the sloughs and grass beds in coves. Redear sunfish are the most fished for fish here. Worms are the best bait for them in sandy areas and on points and flats. Steep walls are where the most crappie are. They are caught with live minnows. Fish should not be eaten from here due to mercury levels.
