Our family owns most of the property surrounding this lake and we have fished here for years. Perch are feeder size only. Nothing bigger than 8" that i have ever caught and the pike average around 5 pounds. Great fishing for young children.

The largest of the 3 lakes in the area (Dubroy and Deep). Horseshoe is the largest and offers the best fishing. Get close to vegetation, fallen logs and rocks. Find some weeds and pop your top water baits around to get the bass' attention. Stick to shorelines and inlets. Structure is where the bass seek shelter and food. The trout will be all over the lake and you should have some luck if you buy some lightweight monofilament lines and local larvae or trout bait's "bait bud" -- I prefer monofilament lines but use what you're comfortable with. Let your bait sit on top of the water and the trout should be popping all day. Get out there early morning or late evening. Also, check the regulations if you're allowed gas motors on Horseshoe, don't think you are allowed on Dubroy or Deep.
