Happy memories

on December 7th

When I was a youth back in the 1950s, I lived in Ridgefield Park. I fished all the lakes of little Ferry and caught largemouth bass, rock bass, crappie and blue gills and trout in Willow Lake. I went several times a week.

Urban put and take trout lake

on August 29th

The state stocks this lake a few time per year and locals line the banks to catch them over the next couple weeks until they put in more. few fish ever get to winter over here. It is a good place for kids to come to fish who can't get anywhere else. It keeps them out of trouble which is a good thing. It is right on a main road and close to a shopping center and McDonalds and litter is an on going problem. There are large carp that can be taken but the lake is closed at night and patrolled by the local PD.
