James River near Newport News, Virginia
This is the river that was in the Bass Master Classics since they are recognized for their largemouth bass. They also support a lot of blue catfish as well. A lot of these fish can get up to tremendous weights in the water. If you use top water lures and jerk them up and down, you will most likely catch yourself a striped bass. A lot of the cats and bass come out when the shad are swimming in full bloom.
