Killdeer Reservoir is actually a reasonably good lake. The reservoir offers fair walleyes, decent numbers of bass that average 14-18 inches, ok panfish, and really nice catfish that average 14-22 inches. You would think that with that kind of fishery the lake would receive a good deal of pressure but it doesn't. Granted, that might have more to do with the bad boat launch that can't handle boats over 16'. Try fishing the shorelines, particularly the small points, the main lake boulder reefs, and around the island. The usual baits and lures work just fine.
