Lake Casitas near Oak View, California
The LARGEmouth bass, nice catfish, crappies, panfish, and the stocked rainbow trout that are found in Lake Casitas must really like living in the 2,500 acres of water that make up Lake Casitas because they grow BIG. The lake record largemouth bass is 21.3lbs and all the other fish grow way above average too. If you want to fish here (who wouldn’t?) you will find that the lake is open year round sunrise to sunset. The entrance fee is $5 per vehicle. There is a boat launch you can use for $5. If you don’t own a boat you can rent a boat from the marina for $15 to $75 per day. The marina also has overnight slips available for $6 per night. You will be disappointed if you want to swim here though because body contact with the water is prohibited. The best baits are spinners, jigs, soft plastics, crank baits, top waters, live bait, dead bait (catfish), and spoons. Good luck fishing!
