Lake Cuyamaca near Julian, California
Cuyamaca Lake is a 110 acre trout lake that lies among the scenic Cuyamaca Mountains, 4,620 feet above sea level. Cuyamaca Lake does not have any restrictions about the time of year you can fish here (sunrise to sunset year round) but it does have restrictions about how fast you can go in your boat (10mph but you can bring any size motor), about when you can use canoes and kayaks here (summer only), and you can’t bring a raft but float-tubes are fine. If you are ok with these regs you will find very nice trout that are stocked year round, fair panfish, and decent bass that want to eat you’re spinners, soft plastics, live bait, jigs, and spoons. On top of that there is a lake store for tackle and supplies, a nearby State Park, and lots of hiking trails. Good luck fishing!
