Fishing Tips for Lake Halbert

on November 28th

Lake Halbert is the most turbid lake I know of. It even looks turbid in the photo. Lake Halbert is so turbid there is just about no submerged water plants and the bass and sunfish and almost nonexistent. However the flathead catfish and white crappie provide a fishery worth fishing for. You can find them near rip-rap, pier timbers, and the little bit of emergent weeds. For crappies the best baits are brightly colored spinners, jigging spoons, live bait, and jigs. For catfish try fishing with worms, stinkbait, live fish, dead fish, and anything else that is super smelly and will stay on a hook ( I heard some guy caught one on a dirty diaper). By the way it’s not a good idea to fish at night because the water is so cloudy. Good luck fishing!
