Use lipless rattling crankbaits and spinnerbaits in areas with moving water. Also try plastic worms and lizards in Junebug and red shad colors to fish offshore hydrilla beds when the bite slows down.

Crappie are really turning on with the cooler water temperatures. Drift live Missouri minnows and grass shrimp in open water, or troll with Napier deer hair jigs and Hal flies for schooling fish. Find areas with sandy bottoms around bulrush and cattails, and fish a grass shrimp under a cork for spawning fish.

Largemouth bass fishing should improve as the water temperature drops over the next few months. Use lipless rattling crankbaits and spinner baits in areas with moving water. Also try plastic worms and lizards in Junebug and red shad colors to fish offshore hydrilla beds when the bite slows down. Fishing with live wild shiners will be the best bet for larger bass during late fall and early winter.
