The crappie fishing is Lake Mendota is really good with fish averaging around 10-12 inches. You will also find a good catfish population, and lots of 1-2lbs bass. Early in the fishing season try fishing shallow weeds and fallen trees if you can find them. The rest of the fishing season you should think about fishing the shoreline weed beds, drops offs, and weed edges. Use live bait, spinners, and soft plastics. Good luck fishing!
