Lake Murray near Irmo, South Carolina
October and November is a great time for Lake Murray fishing because the temperatures are cooler. Striper fishing should be excellent from the dam to Billy Dreher Island using live herring. Concentrate your efforts from 25 feet to the surface using downrods and freelines in the major creek channels and humps. Also, some schooling fish should be caught on topwater plugs, spooks, and bucktails on the cloudy days.
