Lake Oliver near Columbus, Georgia
Went out yesterday, 20140410, about 500pm, and did well for the first time fishing the lake. Im a kayak fisherman and with the first look at the stained water, because of the recent rains, only tied one lure on. Boyah white and chartreuse colorado blades 1/2 ozs. Caught one 2 1/2Lbs off of a dock in the first ten minutes. The wind was pretty agrivating though, coming south at 10+ Off and on. Caught the big female right where you would expect them to be with current conditions. Got another smaller one too. Im going back this weekend and hope to do well with the morning bite. As water clarity improves I will adjust my strategy accordingly. Maybe some downlines with live bait dor stripers and hybrids.
