Bank Fishing: Water levels are really hurting any possibilities of finding a nice place to fish. I was targeting bass and no luck, but given the deep channels, murky water and other factors, probably your best bet is to fish for catfish or rent a boat.
At almost 1,000 acres you would expect there to be a bunch of nice fish swimming around in Lopez Lake and you’d be right. Some of those nice fish are here because the DFG stocks trout which makes for good fishing for the trout but also makes the bass fat. Also found in the lake are really nice crappies, good catfish, and nice panfish. I recommend you try fishing with jigs, soft plastics, top waters, live bait, spinners, crank baits, and dead bait.
