Lots of easy to reach fishing for many species

on August 31st

Marten Lake is located right along the Trans Canada Highway and offer fine fishing for bass, walleye and pike. Lake trout are also taken on occasion. There is a large complex on the lake that offer lodging and other amenities. The lake can also be accessed from the Martin River by boat. 18 miles of water offers plenty of space even though the lake has such easy access. Try fishing the edges of the many beds for pike using a top water lure early in the AM. A Zara Spook did the trick for me creating explosive action at first light.
