McDonald Lake Fishing Report near Timmins, Ontario
Write a Report
One of the 4000 lakes in Timmins, Mcdonald has convenient access and good coverage in some of the corners of the lake. You can find bass, trout and walleye in this lake. Some people have said a few pike made there way into here, if this were true the bass population would be in serious trouble. For the bass, stick to the shoreline on the opposite side of the highway. The vibrations from the road will travel right into the water and deter fish from hanging around. Find a nice quite spot and throw some top water frogs, crawfish and crank baits. If you have some live crawfish, peel the shell off before casting, the exposed shell will set off a feeding frenzy as the aroma from the crawfish will be more potent. Jig with 3g jigs and a medium sized minnow when fishing the walleye. Trout will be popping on crank baits and silver spoons. Use 22 lb test line for all and wire leaders are always a good idea.
