Ive gone here many occasions. Caught bass here few times on spinner bait. Sunfish/perch /bluegill are very thick in this pond. All it takes to catch them left and right is a small hook and a small piece of bread as bait. Caught a black crappie, and channel cats here, as well as recently a bullhead catfish. The catfish will bite on bread as well. However. I have seen about a 5 pound cat pulled out of there on earthworms. Im wondering if theres any flatheads or 10 pound or larger channel cats. Ive been told theres flatheads in that pond but I have yet to see them. The species ive listed is all I have seen. I have been catching the perch for live bait and attempting to catch large cats out of there the past few weeks with no sucess. At a private pond a month ago my buddy reeled in a 10 pound channel cat we thought was a flathead, and I also caught a 3 pound channel cat at this other spot. If it wasnt for all the dang turtles I imagine atleast a very large channel cat would bite my live bluegill but the turtles are defintly a nuisince here. I forgot to mention I have seen some type of koi or carp fish. Bright orange and white. Not the normal type of carp maybe albino or something but. No luck on sweet corn or cheap carp bait at walmart. Ive witnessed them eating bread at topwater when people feed the ducks. They should set the turtle traps out there again and restrict the bass limit. Never seen a game warden out there once but I see people take bass even though your not supose to. Sign says flathead limit so they must have been there at some point in time.

Be creative in Mulvey Pond

on June 18th

Many people over the years I've lived here (most of my life, 27 years) complain about this pond. The truth is, yes, it has a turtle problem (I witnessed on 6/16/2012 or around this date, a state marked truck with a boat going out into the pond retrieving traps with tons of dead turtles.) This might have improved the turtle problem, but i still see quite a few popping up every now and then. This pond is very, VERY picky about lure choice. Plastic worms (trick worms) and jigging is your best bet. I have caught bass in here, however most are adolescents. Jigging, worms, and grubs are your lure of choice. Murkey water, so browns, dark greens, black and yellow seem to work good.

Decent Cat;Turtle Haven

on April 12th

Sometimes you get lucky, mostly not! Only thing we've pulled put of there is cat. Decent size, some keepers, but always throw em' back they could be bigger! Downside, bring lots of bait the turtles are a pain in the rear!!

Unlucky

on July 24th

Maybe its just me, but I have tried fishing all over this pond and have never been able to catch anything. The only thing I havent tried to fish there is catfish, which I plan on trying this weekend. Will write a catfish report after I get done there.
