Our beloved Crooked River has been stingy this summer

on June 27th

The Crooked River has been quite stingy this summer. It was an excellent spring fishery but things have slowed down so it's especially critical to select the correct flies for the conditions. Fishing times vary but we've had best results after 6PM using nymph flies.

Great scenery

on August 19th

I fish here regularly. It's not the best fishing in the area, but the scenery is great, and it's close to Bend. I'll work hard for a bite.

Not bad fishing

Look in the usual current breaks about mid depth possibly in slight cover or in pools for Rainbow.Use dry or subsurface (drowned) flies of the most prominent hatch or streamers. Floating jigs or light weighted jigs, small spoons or small plugs will produce for spinning anglers. For whitefish look deeper in current breaks use jigs, streamers plugs or inline spoons about mid size. Enjoy fishing
