North Fork River near Mountain Home, Arkansas
Who likes catching 30+ pound brown trout, 15+ pound rainbows, and brookies and cutthrought in 3+ pound sizes? By the way the state record brook trout came from here; it was 4lbs 12oz. If you find it hard to believe there are trout that big in here you might not believe me when I say there have been documented cases of fish growing 7 inches in one year. Wither or not you believe me you can't argue that the river is not one of America’s top 100 trout streams because there is a book by Trout Unlimited which this river in it. When both the generators at the dam are not running you can wade the river easily. During that time the best way to catch fish is to go nymphing. Just use small nontoxic split shot just heavy enough to keep you're fly bouncing along the bottom. A strike indicator is a must for this kind of fishing if you actually plan on catching something. When both the generators are running the river rises enough that you don't want to be wading at that time, but there is not enough of surge to stop you from fishing from a boat which I recommend because the best fishing is when the river is full, and wide. White streamers are the best because they look kind of like the shad that get sucked through the dam. Good luck fishing!
