Sauger, Saugeye, and some Walleye are being taken below Old Hickory Lake dam down by the creek during the early evenings and mornings. Use 1/4 ounce jigs (heavy current) tipped with white/pearl twister tails/grubs and cast out as far as you can. Also some nice stripers taken below dam using heavy jigs with twister tails/grubs.
World Record Walleye from Old Hickory lake

You will find excellent bass, really good catfish, nice white bass, decent panfish, and good walleye and sauger fishing in Old Hickory Lake. If that’s not enough to convince you that this is a good lake the world record walleye was caught out of Old Hickory Lake. In the spring the best fishing in the lake usually happens in small bays with fallen trees, feeder creeks, and weeds and near the dam. The rest of the year you will find good fishing near weed lines, drop offs, the spring spots, and near bait schools over the main lake. Think about trying spinners, soft plastics, crank baits, and live/dead bait. Good luck fishing!
