Otter Lake near Girard, Illinois
Otter Lake is, in my option, far and away the best lake in the area. I think that because of the 50 inch muskies, 20lbs striped bass, tons of 10-12 inch crappies, catfish that can be found in the 20lbs rang, and good numbers of yellow bass that can be found in the lake. Early in the season it's a good idea to fish small shallow bays like the ones on the north end of the lake. The rest of the season you will want to try fishing near weed lines, drop offs, and fallen trees. You might also find fish over the main lake. Shad raps, live bait, and jigs are good bets when it comes to fishing here. Good luck fishing!
