Small trout hitting spinners
by Tight Lines
on March 29th
Week after stocking and before the seaweed takes over, late March and early April are perfect for catching trout. Caught 30 8-10 inch rainbows within the space of an hour. I took a picture of a bunch, then eased most of them back into the water to grow big and strong.
Species Caught: Rainbow Trout
Fishing Tips for Parker Canyon Lake

on March 15th
The two story fishery in Parker Canyon Lake has the feel of a high mountain lake exept without the snow (it can get cold here in the winter though so bring a jacket). The lake is perfect to fish with small boats, kayaks, canoes, and float tubes but there is a 5 mile trail around the lake for shore bound angler. For trout try using just about any trout technique in the book. Drifting, casting, trolling, you name it you can catch them on it. If you want to catch some nice catfish try stink bait and worms. If you want to catch a whole meal of tasty sunfish consider using worms or grubs on small hooks under bobbers near weeds or wood. For nice bass consider using spinnerbaits, Texas rigged soft plastics, drop shots, crankbaits, and swimbaits. The best time to fish for bass is in spring at the tail end of the trout season. During the summer most people fish at night to avoid all the pleasure boats and the heat. Tight Lines!
