Pillar Lake is 43 ha with a max depth of 15.8 m and a mean depth of 8.2 m. Fishing pressure is low to moderate for stocked rainbow trout that are common up to 2+ lbs. The large shoals in the northern end of the lake are a great starting point for fly anglers. Spring and early summer sees good hatches of Chironomids, Caddisfly, Damsels, and Dragons. Once the hatches slow down and the weather warms up you should switch from fly fishing the shoals to trolling the with flat fish and other small lures.
