Sardis Lake near Sardis, Mississippi
Crankbaits in various colors, jigs and/or minnows are all producing crappie, but minnows are picking up more incidental catfish. Best bite is early in the morning before it gets too hot. Head for the river and creeks if we get any rainfall runoff. For largemouth bass, fish main lake points with crankbaits or Carolina rigged soft plastics. Cover (brush tops, etc.) is a plus. White bass are feeding on shad in the evenings off main lake points; schools are small and scattered, but some fish are 2 – 3 lbs. Fish small, shad-imitating lures like jigs under a popping cork, small crankbaits, or tailspinner lures.
