Flowing over mostly private land, it can be tough to find a spot to fish the Silvies River. If you are willing to the put the effort though, you should be able to find a few spots you can fish. The upper river is great for redband trout. Trout are king from the headwaters down to Seneca where warm water species begin to take over. Smallmouth bass, yellow perch, bullheads, and carp all become increasingly common the further downstream you go. The slackwater pool under the Five-Mile Dam is a great place to fish and offers public access with a place to launch a canoe.
