Yellow Lake near Grantsburg, Wisconsin
Yellow Lake is a 2283 acre lake located in Burnett County. It has a maximum depth of 31 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from public boat landings. Fish include Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Walleye, Sturgeon and Catfish. The lake's water clarity is low.
Most of the shoreline is heavily weeded and you shouldn't have a very hard time finding northern and largemouth bass. Fish the deep edges of steep drop offs. Panfish in general have some nice size to them. Catching pike out of the weeds is no problem but mostly smaller sizes. Head to deeper water for the larger fish. Yellow Lake is a premier northern Wisconsin fishery and quite regularly sees some serious musky action and even record sturgeon. I have personally had great luck in early to late evening catching walleyes slowly trolling straight runs along the northern shore line in front of the well-known lodges of Ike Walton’s and Yellow Lake Resort.
