About the Campground

Click here for more cabin information and maps. Saltwater cabin on the outer coast of Yakobi Island protected from the Pacific Ocean by Greentop Harbor. Rugged rocky coastline with abundant seashore life and beautiful scenery of West Chichagof Yakobi Wilderness. Wildlife in this area include deer, brown bear and sea otter. Excellent opportunities for sea kayaking and boating in the numerous coves and protected bays. The cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, tables, benches, wood stove and an outhouse. Firewood is provided. It does not have mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring their own sleeping bags, pads, cook stoves, cooking gear and food. The person holding the reservation must be 18, and must be a member of the party using the cabin. This cabin is available for commercial outfitting & guiding as permitted by the District. There are NO discounts for Golden Age or Golden Passports for Alaska cabin rentals. Access by floatplane or boat. This cabin is in a designated Wilderness area, and access by helicopter is illegal. Reservations are restricted to a maximum stay of 7 consecutive nights per party for any one reservation May 1 - September 30 and a maximum stay of 10 consecutive nights per party October 1 - April 30. Effective November 17, 2003, reservations for Alaska cabins will be subject to a new policy allowing only one change per reservation. A change in reservation is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation. After one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the reservation and at a later time, re-book the new dates. This policy has been established to assure that reservations for cabins are fair and equitable for everyone.

Alerts and Important Information You may reserve this cabin on the day of arrival, or up to 180 days in advance. Outside waters are unprotected and can be very dangerous. Occasionally poor weather can result in extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared. Water should be treated or boiled prior to drinking. Floatplane can land in Greentop Harbor. All garbage and food must be packed out.
